Sell the Sell: The Skill I Wish I Learned Earlier🤦🏻♂️
There are so many people who are entrepreneurs and are in business but they don't know how to sell.
And it's really fascinating to me that even if you go to business school, even if you go to Harvard, they don't teach you how to sell.
If you go to medical schools, you will learn how to work on the human body, but they don't teach you how to close people or patients on letting you work on their human body.
You go to law school, but they don't teach you how to get the clients to practice the law for.
Selling is world's highest paid profession because regardless of what business you do, you have to sell. If you're not good at selling, you will be at the bottom of the food chain.
Your ability to do well in life depends on your ability to sell others on the things you believe in!
Selling is Storytelling
People don't buy logic; they buy emotion, belief, and trust. Good selling is basically good storytelling.
You're not saying:
"We make an app that delivers groceries."
You're saying:
"We make it possible for busy people to spend more time with their families instead of wasting hours at supermarkets."
Same product. Different sale. That's what it means to sell the sell — you're not selling groceries, you're selling freedom, time, and convenience.
Sell the Why Before the What
Selling is more than convincing someone to buy — it's about making them believe. Before anyone buys your product, they buy you — your conviction, your story, and your reason for doing what you do.
That's what "selling the sell" really means — selling the why before the what. Because if people believe in your mission, the product becomes an easy decision.
I'm also learning how to sell — and we'll get there soon.
